Good Friday.

Whore houses in various African, Arabic,European and American cities, to sitting in a flat in Scotland thinking of my relationship to God and the meaning of Easter in the wider sense. It is easier dodging the "hookers" than examining your own thoughts and actions. A self generated crash course in "Cause and effect" maybe, scaray in reveiw I can say, its not something I would want my mum to see ,if you get my meaning.
Strange then, that I feel ok parading the whole sordid story in front of the divine, at Easter! And before I go on, Writer, you will note, I am most definately not, so excuse my lack of adherence to the "rules of writing", this includes spelling too!
I'm being a bit economical with the truth here, its not the first time I have been a state of confession or closeness to the divine, its been going on for three years now, and its been both a revaltion and a process of learing under a strict tutor, a few bumps and bruises on the way and a bit of a tear jerker at times.
How does a successful oil guy, go from "international man of misery and profit" to seeker of truth in a short and eventful period? I strugle, in truth, to understand myself, but I will try and share some of the insight, the laughs, and tears that I have encountered along the way.
What pocessess a businessman, with a sound future to give it all up, and all away, to follow a vague and as then undefined path. If you want to really know, its very simple, ask what on this earth could possibly motivate you to give up all you own, your home, your family, your way of life, and all you held to be true. If you then decide, that what would motivate you, would have to be an event of such magnitude, that your comprehession of reality would take a new course, then please do not think that I or you, think in anway differently. We both suffer from the same exposure to the same environments and a basic level of education sufficient for the task of living, that we are not that far off in our inner workings in regard to the mind and what is valid and what is false.

The three years I meantioned earlier, has been since the event of life changing proportion, a eureka moment if you wish, and have been in themslves a period of strange, and if I may be so crude,at times, arse clenching, events.
I am no writer, no academic and no theologian, I'm your avergae guy from a small scottish industrial town. I have however taken a bit of strange route to this point. I have been a soldier, an explorationist, a businessman, and laterly a troubled, but hope-filled and happy man.
There are enough schools of thought in regards to what and who we are, I will not bother trying to articulate my obscure and at times childish reasoning, though it may become apparent in the reading of this subject matter, so you will have to reserve judgement on that at this time.
I will over the coming days and possibly weeks recount tales of strange happenings, some of a deeply moving and emotional spiritual nature, some of a more historical nature, I may even venture an opinion or two that may or may not illicit a response, we shall see. I shall also recount periods from my past, some of a business nature, some of a personal and family nature and some very likley of a less pleasing nature to the more refined mind and gentle palate. Each to their own I say, I can but try to express the events in the manner I wish and hope that my spelling, grammar and limited grasp of written english is sufficient for the task. those expecting some sermon from "holy Joe" will needless to say be left a wee bit short here, and those looking for tales of "daring do" may be a bit shocked by the boring nature of exciting activities.
I shall try to be humourous when the situation allows and I shall write in the spirit of the event described whenver possible, though this may at times shock or offend,it is not my intention to do so on a personal level.The world is a harsh place with harsh relaities,and by hiding them away we do no favour to anyone. Wish me luck, I hope to pass something on that just might be of interest to those of a less material nature. If you prefer big Mac's to big issues, get the car started, and make it large.
